Someone shoot me

UPDATE: YAY, I'm back!!! Turns out that although there were domain name registrar problems, a file had gone missing at my host - 2 hrs after sending in the ticket it's fixed - I tell you, Murphy and I, we're great mates!

Please, someone take me out the back and engrave "don't click on anymore buttons' into my forehead.

It's been 5 days, no luck on the domain name front. So I clicked the retry button. Big bloody mistake! I also sent a note off to customer support, hoping they might be able to tell me more.

"annedouglas.com was in regsuccess, but was re-confirmed today for some reason, and that will reset the transfer back to the beginning of 5 days to approval from losing registrar. Once it goes back to regsuccess let registerfly take the 5 days to approve, and you don' t need to click on retry buttons."

Fuckity fuck fuck fuck!

Okay, back to regular scheduling now that I've had my little mental breakdown!

I cower in fear at the very thought of my planned domain tranfer. The last time I bought a new domain it took about 3 weeks to sort out and many 'help' emails that only helped the throbbing action of a vein in my forehead.

ummm - y'all it's not supposed to be that hard or that stressful. what kind of wacky domain resellers are you working with? even godaddy which drives my web and hosting department crazy isn't THAT convoluted. Anne - if you continue to have difficulties call me and i'll have my web guru advise on if there is an easier fix. (me - i'm a techno moron)

It does get difficult when you originally dealt with a company who is/was being investigated for fraud, plus there is all this other crap going on. There are thousands, probably hundreds of thousands of people stuck like me :(. At the moment, there is nothing any tech guru can do unless they can hack registerflys systems - goggle registerfly problems and see all the websites and stuff.

This mornings problem was all of my own making though, I've got impatient fingers - everything moves so slow in the US...

GoDaddy has its own issues, so I'm giving dotster a try. If only hubby had warned me that registerfly was in all this trouble BEFORE I renewed the domains. If he had I could have just bought it a new at my hosting company and not had any of these hassles. Stupid man!

Hey Anne!

I use Lunarpages for my domain purchase and hosting, just in case you were looking for any other recommendations.

Sorry to hear that you're still having trouble on the domain name front!

you know who i used before i grew to the point where i could assign all that geeky stuff to others - registernames.com. (don't know if they're still around, it's been a few years.) It was a few bucks more than some of the resellers like godaddy but totally hassle free and easy enough that an idiot like me could maneuver thru it and they always emailed me well in advance of my renewal date plus allowed me to transfer domain to a new provider. GAWD - i'm so glad i don't have to deal with that stuff. (she says as she gets back to work on a website one of the designers dropped the ball on.) grumble. sometimes being the boss sucks.

I am trying to transfer to godaddy as currently my domains and hosting are in the clutches of the same, um, less than stella company. My domains are up for renewal in a week so I will have to make the transfer asap I get home later this week.
