Monday Poetry

It's late.

I sit here in this darkened room, confused, contemplating, angry.
I tossed and turned my way here, leaving my blankets twisted on the bed.
My thoughts are scattered, twisted as they offer up options to my dilemma.
But no one course of action is a perfect solution.
On the other screen my cursor blinks. My work in progress interrupted.
Will my thoughts now relax and stop racing across the ceiling?
My eyes need to stay shut, not fly open at every creak or whispered thought.
Midnight is long gone. It's late and morning will be here soon enough.
May tomorrow bring clarity. I can but hope.

Insomnia is a pain in the butt, isn't it. Nice poem, conveyed the frustration perfectly. Have a good week.

The insomnia is a by product of frustration for me unfortunately. I've got some heavy thinking to do about a ms and having not yet reached a solution is playing havoc with my need to sleep.

ah yes. i'm quite intimate with insomnia. for a writer it can be a boon but for the mother who must be compos mentus the next day it can be a bane

Nice.
Simply and elegantly nice.

I definitely relate. Nothing guarantees a sleepless night more than a serious issue with a ms.

Doesn't help that Sven is breathing down your neck.

I agree with TA, it is frustrating, to say the least.

A new day always brings hope. Beautiful Anne. But oooh, yes, insomnia does drive a mind insane. =)

boy do i ever know this feeling Anne! Nicely expressed. Wouldn't it be nice if we DID have a shutdown switch for our brains at night?

These lines really capture the snaring grip of sleeplessness. Hope all settles down so your mind can refresh itself.
